Dear Parade Applicant:
On behalf of the Krewe of Harambee Parade Committee, it is a pleasure to invite you to participate in the 12th Annual Mardi Gras/MLK Day Parade on January 15, 2018. This parade always coincides with the observance of Martin Luther King Day because we want to celebrate and promote unity in our community. Our parade is preceded by the “Martin Luther King Hope and Dreams Breakfast” in which we award scholarships to applicants that have been accepted by an accredited college or university and are from single parent households. Tickets are $15.00 each, so join us in a wonderful celebration and help us promote diversity and unity.
The parade will begin at the Municipal Auditorium on Elvis Presley Avenue going east on Milam Street through downtown Shreveport and back to Elvis Presley Avenue. The parade line up begins at 10:45 a.m. and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
With your help, we are hoping this year’s Mardi Gras/MLK DAY Parade will be bigger and better than ever. Area bands will get an opportunity to showcase their talent following the parade near the Municipal Auditorium.
Enter your float, krewe, band, marching group, drill team, queens, kings, dance line, youth group, athletic team, homecoming court, motorcycle club, riding club, civic organization, business, church, scout troop, school group, etc. Please obtain an application from any KoH member and send with an enclosed check or money order for each entry by Friday, November 24, 2017 to:
